Odds Converter: Decimal, Fractional and American

Convert betting odds between decimal, fractional and American formats.
It is handy when you compare prices across international bookmakers
or come across odds written in a format you rarely use.

The calculator also shows the implied probability, so you can see
what the price actually means in mathematical terms.

Convert odds to another format

Pick the input format and enter the odds. You get the decimal, fractional
and American equivalents plus the implied probability straight away.

The three odds formats

Decimal odds

The simplest format for most bettors: 1.50, 2.00, 2.50, 4.00.
The return is your stake multiplied by the odds.

Fractional odds

The traditional British format: 1/2, 1/1, 3/2, 5/1.
The fraction shows net profit relative to the stake. For example, 3/2 means
a stake of 2 units wins 3 units of profit.

American odds

Used in the US: +150, -200, +300. A plus price shows the profit
on a 100 stake. A minus price shows how much you need to stake to win 100 profit.

How to read the result

Decimal odds

Multiply the stake by the odds. A 100 stake at 2.50 returns
250, which is 150 net profit.

Fractional odds

The fraction is profit relative to the stake. At 3/2,
a stake of 2 wins 3 profit, so the total return is 5.

American odds

+150 means 150 profit on a 100 stake. -200 means you have to stake 200
to win 100 net profit.

Frequently asked questions

Note: the formats are just different ways of writing the same price.
Before placing a bet, check the actual return, the market rules and any limits, not only the format.
